The Evora is capable of generating 414 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque — all with electric motors, one for each rear wheel.

The Evora also has a gasoline motor that powers a generator when its lithium-ion battery pack is tapped out. The battery pack is good for 35 miles, then a Lotus-designed monoblock three-cylinder engine kicks in.

Lotus hasn’t said when, or if, the Evora 414E will see production…but it sure is pretty to think it will.

By designing this new engine specifically for use in hybrids, vehicles will see increase efficiency.
