For their third annual green car-friendly cities list, Kicking Tires used data from a nationwide audience. Using info from cars.com, cities were ranked according to the number of potential buyers in the area who searched for hybrid cars, trucks or SUVs while looking for new vehicles within the past year.
Many Southern cities fell to the bottom of the list; several college towns appeared high on it.
Laredo, Texas came in at No. 210. Albany, Georgia — best known as the birthplace of Ray Charles — was ranked 189.
Other Northern California cities — including Monterey, Salinas, and Sacramento — made the list, too.
