Mercedes-Benz is experimenting with plug-in hybrids that can run on batteries or a fuel cell.

The F 800 Style, “multi-drive” concept car riffs on the same technology used in the S 400 Hybrid and the B-Class F-Cell.

But the look is brand new, sort of…it’s actually reminiscent of the classic 300SL Gullwing Coupe.

The F800 “research vehicle” is scheduled to appear next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
