On January 23 Hawaii will will open the first public electric car charging station. It will go into service n the Kaka’ako area of Honolulu. Plus until the end of March people can plug-in for free. After that, the charger will be put into service. Drivers will be able to charge 24-7. Hawaii is perhaps the ideal place since the island is so small there is no range anxiety and warm weather doens’t affect batteries. Plus since they import oil its incredibly expensive.
