With the end of the year quickly approaching, its time for the best and worst list for the year. Time Magazine recently released its 50 Most Important Inventions of 2009 list. The Nissan Leaf, which was unveiled in August as the companies first dedicated electric vehicle made the list. Nissan intends for it the be mass produced and sold globally as a reasonable price.
Other innovations included the WorldFirst Formula 3 race car developed with the use of bio-materials in some of its components. The steering wheel contains carrot fibers and the mirrors use potato starch while the engine runs on chocolate and vegetable biodiesel. The Honda U3-X personal mobility device also made the list.
